Become a Writer / Reviewer

We’re thrilled that you are interested in becoming a writer and / or reviewer for NA4A! Let’s look at what you’ll need to do to become a writer or reviewer, and how to submit and review works once you are on the team!

Remember, just because you have the qualifications given below, you are not guaranteed a position with NA4A. Here at NA4A, we strive to offer equal opportunities regardless of gender, writing style, or age. However, membership with NA4A is given at the digression of its leaders as it relates to availability and compatibility with your faith.

What is a Writer?

A writer is a user on NA4A that submits articles on Christian theology to be peer-reviewed and eventually posted. Writers do not have to have any specific qualifications or experience, however they might help in getting accepted in NA4A. Ultimately, a writer must simply prove themselves a capable writer and thinker.

What is a Reviewer / Editor

Reviewers, sometimes referred to as editors, are users on NA4A that review articles that have been submitted but have not yet been approved and posted. All writers must also be reviewers, however users may choose to only be reviewers and not submit any works for their site.

What do I need to Become a Writer?

As stated above, we do not require writers to have pre-existing experience or qualifications, however writers that do have such will be given more freedom and review power. In order to join NA4A, applicants must email the following to na4a@reborn.com:

  • Your full name, approximate location, and a 2-3 paragraph description of what you believe in terms of your Christian faith.
  • 2 theological articles as examples of their work (this work may be work you wish to submit to NA4A or work you wish to use as an example only), or previous theological works including books or sermons.
  • The time and energy to be willing to review works, at least one article per month (if works are available to review).

What do I need to Become a Reviewer?

If you are joining NA4A as a writer, you will also be a reviewer. Nothing additional is required. However, if you wish to become a reviewer without becoming a writer, you must provide the following to na4a@reborn.com:

  • Your name, approximate location, and a 2-3 paragraph description of what you believe in terms of your Christian faith:
  • One or more of the following:
    1. One or more theological articles as example of your work.
    2. Experience as a pastor (of any position), Christian writer, teacher, or theologian of another type.
    3. An essay describing in detail what your beliefs are, measuring at least 700 words in length.
  • The time and energy to be willing to review works, at least one article per month (if works are available to review).

What to Expect

As a Writer

  • Writers should expect to offer semi-frequent submissions to NA4A. We understand that God moves different people at different rates, and we strive not to push people beyond this timeline. However, please be willing to commit yourself to adding content to NA4A when possible.
  • Writers must write content of their own creation. NA4A has a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Violation of that policy may result in the removal of all of the offending author’s content from the site.
  • Writers must submit new work with proper citations. By default, we recommend utilizing the APA format. However, if you are more familiar with another scholarly format, it may be allowed upon request.
  • Writers must be willing to take feedback in the peer-reviewing process. Writers must be willing to consider all edits and corrections. Upon a disagreement that cannot be passed, a vote including more authors will commence. This vote will then be logged for further reference if needed.
  • Writers must follow the submission process, which will be given in detail upon the joining of NA4A. This includes but is not limited to registering a DOI on each work submitted. This will not be at the cost of the user. Submitting articles to NA4A will cost authors nothing but the time needed to make it!

As a Reviewer / Editor

  • Reviewers should expect to collaborate with other authors and reviewers with respect and patience.
  • Reviewers must provide constructive criticism in regards to personal preference, and whenever possible should attempt to provide constructive criticism and explanations for theological or logical errors.
